David and Ian McDougall are drafting editors at The Dictionary of Old English. As they compose word definitions, they consult the entire Old English corpus for uses of their headword; they look at manuscript facsimiles; they trace parallels and related words in Latin, Old Norse, Old High German; and they consult secondary research on Old English language and Anglo-Saxon culture.
